Poetry * Music * Art * DanceThere is a reason why art exists in our world, and there is a reason why we crave for it. Cheers to all the disciples of art! I happened to catch the movie, Moonlight Kingdom on TV a few weeks ago, and I just loved the music used in this cute movie. The end credits turned out to be a sort of orchestra introduction, so I thought I would share it with you and the young music lovers. Here we go! Two days ago, I heard of the news of the sudden passing of Dmitry Volkov. I couldn't believe it, especially since the cause of death was rumored to be heart failure. A bright, young cellist at the age of 26 and in the middle of a performance tour, it just couldn't be!
Dima and I went to Peabody and Heifetz Institute together. I was charmed by his friendly and carefree personality as well as his virtuosic skills on the cello. He had so much music in him and so much potential to share....his abrupt departure is a huge blow to people who know him and his music. I wish the best for Dima's family and friends. Below is a statement from Heifetz Institute. R.I. P, Dima. Sheng-Yuan Hello everyone: I know it's been a while - hope all is well with you! Today's post is a short one but I think it could summarize a wish I have towards a lot of the ongoing current affairs. Enjoy! World Peace right here! |
